Beginning Mandarin for Ages 7-12 (8 week class - Main Library)

In these beginner Mandarin classes for ages 7-12, students will learn basic daily conversations in Mandarin, learn to recognize some Chinese characters, learn Chinese culture, make crafts, sing songs, and have lots of fun. Classes will be taught by Lucy Yeh of the East Bay Chinese School, who has 20 years of experiencing teaching kindergarteners to adults. This class builds on information learned in earlier sessions so weekly attendance is important. Please only register the child aged 7-12 for this event, not the caregiver/parent. Enrollment is limited to 15 students total. Students must be able to attend all eight sessions. Do not register if you cannot attend. To be most successful in this class, children should be able to focus on the content for 30-40 minutes at a time and respect the other children and the instructor.
